Art in Nature III - The Instant of Creation

When did humans stop feeling part of nature?

What have we done?... What are we doing?...

This exhibition that features works by 40 artists from different latitudes meet here at the Museum of Nature of Cantabria, and in the Carrejo area, to honor the planet, to remind us that we are all part of it, and we should be in balance with the place where we live, respect it and respect each other.

Three artists have worked here, in Carrejo, in the surroundings of the Museum, in dialogue with its wonderful landscape, its river, its forests, its stones…

They are Giulia Leonelli, a Franco-Italian artist, Luanda Lozano, a Dominican artist living in New York, and the artist Shona Wilson from Australia.

They have participated for two weeks in the Nat Art Residence - The Instant of the Creation, a program directed by SM Pro Art Circle with the support of the Museum of Nature and the Government of Cantabria.

The inhabitants of Carrejo have joined the exhibition again, offering their windows, doors and entrances to house the new works of the Resident artists.

We are honored to have, once again in this edition, Marisa Caichiolo, an independent curator based in Los Angeles, USA, as Guest Curator.

We feel very excited and proud with the quality of the exhibition and with the commitment that each artist has in their work with nature. We are convinced that it is the way…

The preservation, dissemination and care of nature is the goal of the Museum of Nature of Cantabria and the works presented in this Third Edition honor it and share, from an aesthetic and emotional point of view, its mission: Preserve and safeguard Nature, of which we are, without any doubt, part.
